

One-Day Workshop on “Application Of Modern Technologies In Internal Electrification & Installation”

Having received several enthusiastic requests from different groups comprising of not only the working electricians but also the students of MIT and the Government Polytechnic, the IEI Manipur State Centre Committee took a decision in its 13th State Committee Meeting, held on 11th January 2020 to organise the One Day Workshop on “Application Of Modern Technologies In Internal Electrification & Installation” on 19th January 2020.
The Workshop was organised on the scheduled date. Altogether 52 participants took part in the day-long programme. In the brief inaugural session presided over by Er. N. Shyamsundar Singh, FIE, Chairman IEI Manipur State Centre, Er. Ch. Dharanikumar Singh, MIE, the Past Honorary Secretary and the Co-ordinator of the Workshop welcomed the Resource Persons, participants and others present and briefly explained the theme of the Workshop. Er. A. Roudrajit Moirang, MIE, Honorary Secretary, also highlighted the role of IEI in organising workshops and Seminars, etc. in the interest of all concerned. In his presidential address, the Chairman also emphasized the need for bridging the gap that lies between the old and the new technologies in the interest of all stakeholders.
Resource persons from Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT), National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Government Polytechnic and State Public Works Department (PWD), who have done extensive studies / work on the relevant chapters like, Planning & Design of Internal Electrification &Installation, Electrical Safety Measures, Electrical Switches and Change-over Arrangements, Use of Energy Efficient Appliances & Gadgets and Energy Conservation, etc. of the comprehensive course, spoke elaborately in their areas of interest with visual displays. The participants were also given opportunities to gain practical knowledge about application of control switches & protective devices and also imparted hands on training at the Electrical Laboratory of the Government Polytechnic.
The State Centre put on record the facilities and support provided by the Principal, Government Polytechnic and the entrepreneurs for making the programme a grand success.
